Character Strengths

Three character strengths that described me included, kindness, perspective, and gratitude.

      1. Kindness

  • What are some way you have observed the expression of kindness and compassion by different people in different situations?

  • How are your kind acts received by others? My kind acts are received by others as appreciated, thankful, surprised because most of the time they don't expect it and grateful.

  • What character strengths best support your expressions of kindness? Doing favors for others and expecting nothing in return genuinely because I love doing favors for people, giving in my time to really just sit there and be there as a shoulder to cry on, be a listening ear and just pay attention to what they are expressing.

        2. Perceptive

  • When has looking at a problem from another level been most helpful for you personally and for others around you? When I look at at the problem from the other persons perspective rather than just my own. I do this by using my own knowledge as well as theirs, that way we can come together and share our different sides/ perspectives to solve the problem.

  • What are examples of times when your perspective was easiest to share? Probably when another individual wasn't feeling too good mentally and emotionally especially if I felt like I could relate to them, so therefore I could go be a listening ear and give them some advice about the situation they're in. Again, sharing my own knowledge and seeing if they agree or could relate.

  • What have been one or two of your missed opportunities in sharing this strength?

      3.  Gratitude

What circumstances make it most likely you will experience gratitude? What circumstances make it
most likely you will express gratitude? I will express gratitude when I'm thankful for people around              me and the wonderful favors they do for me. Genuinely taking the time to appreciate being here                    today, appreciating my surroundings, school, family, friends and teachers.

  • Are there people to whom you have not adequately expressed gratitude, as an oversight or intentionally holding it back (e.g., family, friends, co-workers, mentors, community members)? If so, why?

  • To what degree do you express gratitude to others out of a deep feeling of appreciation as opposed to social convention?
